Dresses built for an evening
DANIEL NICULESCU founded Lumenvolt in Miercurea Ciuc, in Harghita, Romania, with a simple brief: make evening dresses that do not need adjusting all night. The collection is made up of ruched slips, lace tie styles and pearl strap minis, all in A-line shapes and a narrow palette of plum, blush and black. Fewer options, chosen carefully, so that deciding what to wear takes a minute rather than an evening. Because the palette repeats, a dress bought for one occasion still works with the shoes and coat you already own when the next invitation arrives, which is the quiet point of keeping a collection this small.
Fitted seated, standing and walking
An evening dress is judged when you are moving, not when you are standing still in a fitting room. We fit every style seated, standing and walking, then check that the bodice stays in place, the straps hold their length and the lining keeps its shape under light. Zips are concealed and hooked at the top so they do not open on the dance floor. Ruched panels are cut on the bias so they gather evenly rather than pulling to one side, and hems are finished with enough weight to hang straight. Only the samples that pass all of that go into production.
Ordering, delivery and returns
Orders leave our studio within one to two business days and reach European Union addresses in three to seven days. You have fourteen days from delivery to return an item, and return shipping inside the EU is free of charge. If you need a size recommendation, tell us your usual dress size and your height and we will compare it with the sample measurements and tell you whether to size up for a closer or a looser fit.
